Which OD do you prefer with a flat bearing?

Like the title says, which One Drop do you think plays best with one of their flat bearings installed?

Assuming people are swapping in centering bearings most of the time (maybe I’m wrong?), I’m just wondering which one(s) you clearly enjoy more with a flat bearing.

I keep the original 10-ball flats in all my ODs…
I don’t run flat bearings in any of my other throws though :man_shrugging: Just feels right.

Dang lol I usually stick with the flat until they get loud then I’ll start to experiment with different ones. Most of mine have a concave but I’ll swap in a flat every once in a while when I get bored or crave that feeling with certain throws.

none of them*

*exception for the responsive onedrops

generally i’ll keep original bearings as the piece comes - one drop is no exception. i would almost say i prefer one drops with the original 10-ball bearings. i’ve always played them that way, and i have just a panorama now that i play still with the od 10-ball. not to say i don’t like frank’s bearings, they are excellent!

I like swapping different bearing types in the same one drop from time to time. It changes up the way the they play enough to suit whatever mood I’m in. Some feel better with different bearings.

The only exception would be the terrerarian. That one is always loaded with a flat.

I honestly swap bearings pretty much right away. Maybe the deep state or deepest keeps the flats and I think I kept my black cannon a flat but otherwise it’s usually a koncave bearing of some sort

All of them plus one in my beater. Just felt right

Pano and diorama flat all the way, for others it doesn’t really matter to me. I used to prefer flats, but now I dabble in the dark side and run a concave in my booster rainier.

Mostly all of them usually, I’ll also use OD 10balls in other unresponsive throws with finicky response. I have a DS 5cut in a Panorama which gave it some new life and a DS 5cut in my Deepest to make it unresponsive. My Overture has a Center-Trac in it and it plays better with that then the 10ball, that’s probably my only exception.

I usually play my ODs with their original flats for about a week to see if I like them in that particular model. Most end up with a Dif KK since I like KKs much more than flat bearings.

My Deeper State and Intro both still have their original 10 ball flats. I’ve been tempted to swap out the bearing on my Intro, but I feel that goes against what that yo-yo stands for.

The quality of other bearings is usually just awful, so I keep the flat ones.

+1 for all of them. I also rock one in my rso/atmos Gravity.

usually keep the flats

only exceptions were my mantis and wyvern

they play much better with the kk

mainly just because I value quiet running

and the 10 balls, (if cleaned, lubed and broken in) usually quite nice in this regard

I would swap all of them to a NSK Double straight if money were no object,

but alas, I’m not about to drop a 1-2 hundred quid on posh bearings just so I can be extra picky about both noise and spintime simultaneously :united_kingdom:

I swap most of them out but i do enjoy a flat in my panorama, wizard, and since i have 2 parlays i run one flat and one concave.

Definitely need a flat in the Pano/Dio. I’ve tried centering bearings in my Panorama and it just felt wrong. I feel like it lost some of the magic.

One for me that almost always has a flat is the Legendary Terrarian. I just love the way it feels and plays. Also flat caps

I tend to run a center-trac bearing in the more performance-h ones - Ranier, Wyvern, Reboot, the majority of ‘em. But I really like a flat in organics, esp. the small ones. MMC, Parley, Panorama. Those ones feel kinda… dead to me when you take out the flats.

It’s kinda unpredictable though. I expected the little Artifact to want to stay on a flat, but it came to zippy life when I put in a concave D.

I only have two OD throws, but I’ve kept the flat in both of them. Thorn and Fat Tire 20/20.
