OD 10 Ball mod

I was under the impression the One Drop 10 ball bearings were the best until I found the string would sometimes be touching the response pads and slowing the spin. I then migrated to the centertac, concave and even the ceramic bearings as my favorites.

While changing out a flat 10 ball just now I thought to myself - ‘What if I made mine a center track’

So I grabbed my Dremel with the cutoff wheel and a pencil. Made a slight recess in the middle. Blew out the bearing with compressed air and installed it in my OG 888.
I was surprised as heck the string stayed centered with so little material removed. Feels great like the 10 balls do but with the bonus of a centered string!
I have so many of these bearings. I will see how it goes long term.

I have done the same with an old YYF flat, it’s in a further modded Whip, I sent it to @SidequestMarlon as a thanks for the things he’s sent me in the past lol.

I have been temped to do the same to a OD10b as well but haven’t gotten around to it. Glad you had success, it’s a lot of fun to play things that you have made better with your own ingenuity

I have plenty concave in 8 and 10 ball. I must have 20 or 30 one drop 10’s from previous years. Just nice to be able to quickly ‘adjust’ my stock for more preferred performance.
