Just in from the first knuckle on the middle finger.
In the NORMAL spot. There is no other way, you hear me @popartmogul !!!
Right smack in the middle of my middle finger - halfway between the second and third knuckle. Many moons ago I would play at the base of my middle finger, and then I started realize it affords a lot less control and didn’t allow me to open up certain tech formations wide enough. I have relatively small hands, so I need all the extra reach I can get.
I’d move it up a bit closer to the third knuckle like some folks here, but it makes me uncomfortable – feels like it’s just going to fly off my hand.
I needed this to see where other people put their string
I used to put it at the base of my finger but now I’m too lazy to put it full way through so I just put it in the middle of middle finger
i learned using the base of my finger, so now thats what feels best for me. and by base, i mean jammed up against the webbing of my hand.
Same here (around the knuckle closest to the nail), I legit thought that was where pretty much everyone kept it, but now that I’ve seen all the middle of finger stringers on here, I’m questioning my position choices, haha.
This is the way. Used to wear it around the base of my middle finger and when I switched it felt super off but you’re technically utilizing the most space on your hand for extra wraps and such when you do it this way. Also make sure your slipknot is facing the right way, it makes a big difference.
The base of the middle finger is the only spot that doesn’t feel like the slipknot will slip off (easily). It still sometimes comes loose while I’m playing, but it’s far enough into my finger that it doesn’t just outright fly off and get my yoyo dinged.
In the 90s I played at the base of the middle finger. None of us even did a trapeze.
Had a dark age and found a purple glitter butterfly at good will. Looked up tricks on YouTube and found Adam.
It felt odd at first. Pulled my finger “harder”, felt like it might slip off. Over time I got used to it and I do think you have better control.
I have mine just nail-side of the middle knuckle. The little bulge of finger fat or whatever helps keeps the string in place, but I still have more control than at the base.
