i 'm thinking of something cheap and good.
suggest yoyos and state pros and cons please!
sidenote: will speedmaker with o-ring replaced with tez-oring + 0.75 (one side) shim + 0.5 (other side) shim be good for 5A?

You can use almost any 1A YoYo for 5A. I use a recessed FH2 and a sili Lyn Fury for 5A. I’ve never used a speedmaker but I’m sure you could use it for 5A.
Pros for the FH2: I just love this YoYo. It plays nice and smooth after it is broken in and if its recessed its even smoother
Cons for the FH2: small gap
I would list Pros/Cons for the Lyn but I just started to use it for 5A so I don’t want to lead you down the wrong path.
I hope that helps.
Any yoyo used for 1A will be good for 5A
Your Speedmaker will be fine, but if you want to buy something new I’d get a Lyn Fury, FHZ, Pocket Change, or DieNasty.
Note that the DieNasty and Pocket change require binds.
Any 1A yoyo works… I like Hyrbid yoyos for 5A, and my fave 5A yoyo is the Die-Nasty… If your starting I reccomend a cheaper plastic yoyo, because drops do happen
I’d say its a matter of preference. I like 'em all.
for the speedmaker, will it be too light for 5A? and with that setup, will the binds slip? or can i just leave the o-ring in?
Nah, you just might have to get a lighter counterweight… You’ll know if your CW is too heavy…
I’d reccomend leaving the o-ring in and see if you like it like that, and them you can change it, if it does slip you can allways put the o-ring back in…
pretty much sums it up…legacy is a great yoyo for beginner 5A, I still throw it and I’m into more then just basic 5A…only 25 dollars too…
Well i use my speedmaker for 5a
Yes, its a bit too light, but it still good
I take out the o-ring an sili it, and put a red shim (0.5 mm each i belive) on both side, it doesnt slip
