What Yo-yo for my first YYR?

Hello yo-yo expert forum, long time lurker here and finally decided to sign up.

I’ve finally saved up some cash and decided I want to acquire my first Yoyorecreation throw. I’m torn between the CS61 and the GOPA, and I want to know y’all opinions about the two. I’m looking for a chill everyday yoyo that functions as an edc.

Gopa is very fun, fits well in the pocket too.

GOPA is fun and more pocketable, but I would say that the CS61 is far more chill.

CS61 has a very soft, light, easygoing feel.

GOPA’s width and relatively high walls are more demanding, and it feels sharp/angular in the hand.

I don’t think either feels underpowered, despite the low weight, considering what they are designed for.

I think that if someone is going to commit to the GOPA as an EDC, the width will not be a long-term issue and it may be more versatile.

Syfo or Knok are my EDC type of yoyo.

Those two also interest me as well. What’s their differences in play?

Just get a Draupnir duh :innocent::joy:

I haven’t tried a CS61 but I do have a GOPA. The way I would describe it as a “performance version” of a slimline. While the light weight and slim width would make it seem like it would be super casual feeling, it actually has way more power than you would expect, with a lot of rim weight and the large diameter. It’s also ALL catch zone, so it’s not really actually more difficult to land on the string than a “normal” yoyo imo. Biggest downsides would be the sharp rims, and the light weight can sometimes make it hard to feel and control all that power. It’s also a bit overpriced IMO. But if that description sounds appealing to you, then I would definitely recommend it.

*EDIT: I forgot to mention that another comment says it has high walls. I don’t really think it does, at least not for an organic. IMO, it feels more like a rounded V shape than a traditional organic in a way.

Relative to CS61 or even the Tricklab Hard Mode, the GOPA has higher walls.

But I agree with everything else that you said about GOPA. (Which suggests that the walls may be a total non-issue to some people.)
