This is going back quite a ways:
Use a organic or butterfly like yoyo that is round like the 44, Mayhem, 4xl,..lots of yoyos that are more round. The reason for this is because yoyos with high angles or flat rims that are wide can be difficult for the tech side of moebius.

I think string choice makes a huge difference, as in how easily it slides against itself. I like using Throw-Yo Vapor with any yoyo that suits the string, which is usually the Werrd SplitSecond or YYFr Shortcut
