What trick are you working on? 2025

This one took me almost a year to learn, but then it just clicked. Learning to intercept the string attached to the yoyo as close as possible is what did it, as well as getting a high angle on the second hop

My problem with Kwyjibo is that the string always gets wrapped around my watch somehow. I should probably record myself to see what I am doing wrong.

Try it without the watch. Probably happens when you roll over through 1.5 and then cross armed. Watches and yoyo are not best friends. Just helps with a ton of tricks to be able to use the wrists to open up space. Definitely you can get comfortable doing it with a watch i bet tho. Recording yourself is a good idea and helps so much so often good luck yo

i wear bracelets and i usually yoyo around them fine, but sometimes i do need to free up some arm real estate

Thank you for the detailed advice and feedack. I could land it a few more times after this. Still not 100% but i`m getting there. To keep the fingers pointed forward was the key thing. Thank you!

you can probably tell by the grumpy face that this was by far not my first attempt recording this 2 x Kwyjibo repeat

Thanks again @GTDropKnot

Today i also have started working on “Path of Totality” again. I tried it about a year ago, but it was way too complicated back then.

Now I can more or less reach the point right before the final part, which he calls “branding” (I need to look that up — I’ve never heard that term before).

I’m not including the slack element he adds at the end btw.

But I have no idea how to do the part where he throws the loop away and catches it again… what starts at 4:23 in the video…

Anyone any tipps how to do that?

That is a branding. Just go around like youre going to double on like you would 1.5 mount but let go and recatch the string and it will be 1.5 mount.

Here’s a vid about it by docpop and I really like the brent trick he shows as a stepping stone and a way to understand branding conceptually.

Nice work with kwijibo! That is looking much better and a cool variation. For the trick kwijibo, you want to land in double or nothing. You still are not intercepting the string when you uncross so you’re landing in brother mount with a twist. Go back to the stuff I sent earlier and notice how nth index passes into the string when I uncross and how that pulls the yoyo into DoN. Youre letting nth index go behind the string

Thanks, I somehow forgot or didn’t realize that Kwyjibo is supposed to end in a double or nothing, not a 1.5 mount.

I’ve been practicing it a lot today, and more and more often I’m actually hitting the string and landing more or less correctly.

But yeah, I still often land on multiple strings at once, or on the middle string instead of the front one.

Also, I keep getting these weird extra loops or knots on my fingers… definitely not an easy trick

I think I have to delay the branding trick a bit — it feels impossible for me right now.

Next, I wanted to try the 10 tricks from this video. Is there a tutorial for the Eiffel Triangle somewhere (could nowhere find one), or are you supposed to figure it out based on the classic Eiffel Tower trick?
