Here is the ruleset for the ‘23 worlds, I imagine they haven’t changed much.
I would read this and try to build your routine around what will score you most, and work on consistency and stage presence.
I have no suggestion for what tricks or elements to learn, I am not competitive, and don’t follow the comp scene much at all. My guess anything with the word “meta” in it is likely specifically designed to score high. You get deductions for misses and repeats, so that’s important to consider.

Clicks are counted when the YoYo interacts with the string, so keep that in mind. Picture tricks and stuff don’t earn you points.

You might get more advice if you give some information or ask specific questions. What tricks do you know already, what gaps do you think you have, what freestyles do you like that you want to be similar to and what do you like about them, etc.
Yeah Alicia is making a good point and imma add more thoughts now. Just very generally you wanna do the hardest tricks you can do comfortably and consistently ~90%. Also do the tricks that look the coolest. If you got combos that are easy to line up with music cues, that is good. What division are you considering? If you’re focusing on 1A, pretty zontal can help, maybe work on making sure you got that super pretty perfect 90 degree zontal maybe. Depends on your goals also, like do you want to win or do you want to just put together a fun routine you’re proud of. If you have original tricks, do those. Also remember to emote good emotes after you crush a combo or before you’re about to pop off (sincere)
i do tons of tricks with gt like heart mount slack and ladder escape
(i havent perfected it though ) and i added a lot of gt elements in like gt suicide and inverted gt
