This is a great question! While more than shape goes into how a yoyo performs, it is definitely the foremost consideration in comfort in the hand, I feel. That being said, with performance factored in, I typically find myself gravitating towards a double curve (close description would be an organic H shape but widened, like the yoyo I made, the Weasel) for balanced play, especially in the stability department. For sheer performance, it’s hard to beat a V-shape like the C3 Vanitas family when it’s done right, but it isn’t as comfortable. Also was that a pink S2 I saw in your collection? Great taste if so!
