I’ve not heard that work yet but now that I’m here, I thought I could ask a question of my own. I’ve been learning a lot of tricks that have “Rail” in the name, especially the Rewind YT channel. I love their tutorials but just curious what rail means in relation to a yoyo trick or combo?

From Wikipedia:

Jawn is a slang term local to Philadelphia and, by extension, the Delaware Valley that may refer to a thing, place, person, or event, substituting for a specific word/name. Jawn is a context-dependent substitute noun; a noun that substitutes for other nouns.[1] Jawn can be singular or plural. Examples include: “These jawns are expensive!”,[2] “Pass me that jawn.”, “Slow it down, jawn.”, “That new jawn.”, “This jawn is packed.”.[3]

Jawn is believed to be derived from the word “joint” (as its proper pronunciation sounds more like “joiwn”).[4][5] Historically, the city’s black population migrated to the northern part of the city from Alabama, Georgia, and the Carolinas/Virginia, bringing with them a Southern dialect that carried words such as ‘joint’.[6]

I think it’s when you step on a rusty nail and get tetanus. You get lockjaw so it looks like you’re yawning: jawn.

in relation to a combo, i cant really explain it but brandon vu has a really good and simple explanation of it in one of his videos.

Any trick that has the yoyo sliding along the string, i.e. Skin the Gerbil and Superflow.

The post above give good examples of complex rail combos, namely Godspeed

In yo-yoing, jawn seems to mostly be used as a synonym for “banger” in my experience. Aka a big flashy trick that’s usually focused on a single element (so lacerations/hooks or a big zoning/body trick).

“Ayo John, what kinda jawn is this jawn? I dunno jawn about it!” :joy:

“Idk jawn about it” would not be used, but otherwise pretty much correct. We would for sure be using an expletive in that last one lol

“Ayo John, what kinda jawn is this?” “Idk wtf that is”

It’s an old song - Delta jawn, what’s that flower you have on? Could it be a faded rose from days gone by?
