Today I got my ZGRT el Mijo in “Black”. The throw is awesome, literally been having so much fun with it unresponsive I havent even thrown in the bearing blank (I fully intended this to be a metal fixie most of the time).
Only complaint is the color. This is gun metal grey, not black. Beautiful none the less, but not black lol. Its a bummer because I bought this to go in a specific spot on my shelf where black yoyos live.

Wow. Beautiful work, Rob. I’m no connoisseur, but I haven’t seen too many wood yoyos with an internal axle assembly and cups that look like these do.

It was a honor and a pleasure to be involved in this project. Finally got el MiJo in and i had to pick up all 4 colors this way i have all 4 set ups.
Left to right… fixed axel, responsive, flat unresponsive, concave unresponsive
I also pre-ordered this one cause the price was right for Ti. Gonna be a min before i get to throw it but it looks like it’s gonna be fun.

Id say my black el MiJo is a dark blue black…i think of gun metal as greyer but gun metal is a sliding scale…i have a Momento in gun metal that’s more brown and a 66% shutter gun metal that’s a dark silver. El MiJo isn’t dark black.

I just got a chance to throw for awhile on my commute. Couldn’t resist to try the Rhino first.
It has a very solid presence on the string, it felt easy to stay in the right plane for my combos. Felt very powerful as well so much so more often then not i went for extra tricks on my combos and still had enough spin to bind. Not the snapiest binds but i did hit the sky bind and guy wright bind every time i tried them. During suicide tosses and hops it felt like it had just enough float, i even hit a hop to D.ON. twice (i usually miss that one! ) i don’t do sites combos by any means and the rhino didn’t seem to have any desire to speed up. Edges are rounded off so it’s a very comfortable catch.
Let me know if you agree with some of that when you get yours.
