So, what you are saying is you would apply the same rigor to ukulele making as you do to yoyo making
The musical world won’t know what hit it.

Hahaha. It will take YEARS to get the skills to achieve such a thing, but I’m sure I can get there if I persist.
I got this sweet looking Kuntosh today! It came with clear flats but I switched them out for some custom grey ones that I made.
Is that a Diamond Virgin on the right? How does it play? I’ve heard that it isn’t sufficiently stable for its rim size and weight.
I really like it. It is quite stable for its size, but still has good agility. It avoids feeling like a brick at all, which happens to a lot of small yoyos trying to perform above their size. The rims are so huge relative to the size of the yoyo that they push the weight inwards. It is pretty midweighted for a bimetal actually. I’d say this is the smallest yoyo I’ve played that won’t hold back your tech tricks at all. People probably just expect it to be a purely stability chasing yoyo.
Ah I see, that’s pretty interesting, didn’t expect that the rims were actually pushing the weight towards the middle due to it’s size. I’m guessing people want a bimetal to be rim-weighted rather than mid-weighted. Seems like I should be on the lookout for one.
Pakfa was good too but the one I had looked vibe
How do you like the Mgska? I’d need to see one for real cheap like what popped up on the BST a week or two ago, but that’s one of the yoyos I’m super interested in. Do you think it has enough of a uniquely “magnesium” play feel to justify getting one purely for the material, or is the most unique aspect of it just the ceramic coating?
Garret?
It has a unique magnesium play feeling to it for sure, though I wouldn’t say it has amazing performance. It plays old school and smooth. It’s worth it in the way an organic ti yoyo can be. A ti organic isn’t worth to me though lol, so idk if I am convinced to hang onto this one. The best part to me is actually the coating. It looks and feels so good.
Did BMel have a hand in that??
I got a Dresssel Designs 50/50 today. There isn’t a single design choice here that I could criticize. It’s honestly marvellous. Feels perfect and plays very well. The weight, weight distribution and dimensions are very harmonious indeed. The D bearing is a perfect choice. This design would not be as good with a C. Superb work @hobbygod .
I feel the moment they said it feels like plastic they lost me. I know it probably doesnt play like a plastic yoyo but still haha. Poor marketing choice.
How is it?! First impressions on the throw?
Interesting, we had pretty opposite reactions to that description. I realize that’s probably just a bit of hyperbolic marketing material, but a description like that is honestly a big part of why I’m interested in it. I’m mostly interested in different materials to see what unique design and play attributes they can have that are exclusive to the material. I love plastic yoyos with how much lighter and zippier they can feel regardless of size or weight, so having a metal yoyo that can provide a similar feeling is very appealing to me.
