I do have a daughter but she wasn’t here yesterday. Plus I know better, I keep my yoyo’s out of reach from her, lol.
I’m not sure who Rueben is but I want to see what Atmos says before I do anything with it. I sent them a video of the vibe. Hopefully they will do the right thing.
Sorry, I missed this. Yes, it doesn’t smooth out, it gets worse, like it’s generous to call this vibe, it’s not behaving like a proper yoyo. I can’t stress enough how bad it is. It’s like when a novice gets a regen wrong and it’s wobbling on the string like crazy, that’s as smooth as it throws now… it wobbles and hops.
Oh sorry, mate… I am so caught up in my own misery, I didn’t really get what you were saying, I thought Rueben was a member here that fixes broken yoyo’s or something, I don’t know how I got that in my head, lol. My apologies. Yeah it’s a bummer but stuff happens… I just need to chill and take deep breaths!
Oh okay, that’s why I’m having trouble with it. I’m not big on social media but I do have an IG account. Thanks for the tip!
Thanks, I feel bad about making this public before I got a reply, I’m not doing it to make Rueben/Atmos look bad by any means, just wondering if someone might have some thoughts on what caused this to happen. Thanks for linking him.
If this is in poor taste, I’ll be happy to take it down. I had to trim the video I sent via email to Atmos significantly so here I can post the entire video… well, I trimmed this a bit as well, I just keep blabbing at the end of the video.
Again this is not meant to be disrespectful to the company or anyone at all.
Holy guacamole. One of the weight rings must be dislodged or something. That’s not even wobble let alone vibe. That yoyo’s trying to shift through to another dimension. I hope Atmos can take care of you!
jeez, i don’t think i’ve even seen a bad mono-metal do that, so i would venture to guess shifted ring(s). only other time i had something like that happen was with very tight bearing posts that did not actually fully seat the bearings perfectly flush on both halfs. i don’t have alot of bimetals because i know they can get out of whack, but not usually without some kind of impact.
Yes, I first tried changing the axle then the bearing and then the string.
I did, I think both weight rings were and still are dislodged somewhat and while I was able to get it a bit smoother than in the video I posted, it’s still unacceptable at this price range in my opinion. I have a nice leather wrap for my pipes that I used to try to get the weight rings to settle back in without leaving marks but I don’t want to throw it much until I hear from Rueben. Bi-metal or not, they should be able to withstand weather changes… or at least ya would think but I dunno man, it’s kind of a bummer. It was like fate that it arrived on my Birthday but then when I woke up to this today, it just gutted me. Being a bit dramatic but you know what I mean, a big let down, this was by far the yoyo I was most excited about receiving and it was a long 10 day wait. Oh well, I’m sure things will work out either way… I’m hopeful at least.
Legato for size comparison. I love these guys. I’m still Benchmade for the 391( because they discontinued the 390, damn axis lock people) but Tony’s got my money nowadays. Highly recommend. Have a great day!
Just told my wife it’s for cutting strings.
Got a good deal on the Legato from a friend so I copped it - my other one is minty mint so it’ll be nice to have one to toss around freely. And the KLR I’ve been excited to pick up from Ernie since he announced them. The KLR is one of my most used yoyos ever, it’s what I brought with me everyday to HS and eventually to college. And Ernie super generously gifted me this mug for being one of General Yo’s most long time customers, it’s pretty sick and has the logos of pretty much all of his throws on there.
