First throw of 2024 had to be a unique one. Just got hands on @DocPop’s PLTPS (pronounced “Platypus”) yoyo - metal responsive body with delrin rings and matching counterweight.

One of my current rotational throws. Really like the weight, shape and colors. My first essence!

We eatin good today yall! RSO Burger was just dropped off by FedExEats and I couldnt be more stoked. I’ve wanted an RSO for a while, I really love the branding, design language, and presentation of their product, but nothing spoke to me until now. Burgers are hands down my favorite meal for lunch, and as a socal native In N Out is one of my favorite restaurants, so this whole thing felt perfect for me. The packaging and extras are really nice (Return Toppings LOL) and I’m excited to Have It My Way and experiment with the customization options that Burger allows.

So far I’m Loving It, mid size yoyos like this are always fun and this one has really unique characteristics in play. Fluffy and wide for its size, it feels fairly dense on the string which I wasn’t expecting, but it really feels great. I’m really not sure how, but all of that together really kinda plays like a burger. Comfortable and performant, dense and fluffy, all the contrast you’d expect from a meaty cheesy burger with fresh produce on it. This Is What a (ham)Burger’s All About.

I agree with you on that one. I really like mine and it seems like such an understated performer. After I saw the Informel and Kapital in your picture, I felt like I had to respond since I think those are both great throws. I have several Kapitals since I like it so much. Interestingly, they really do feel and play differently from one another. The purple/pink is the best-looking one (IMO), but the black ones (both with and without the etching) are my favorites. For some odd reason, the acid-wash red and blue ones don’t feel like they’re up to the same level as the rest of them. I’m thinking that I may be biased against those colorways and that probably accounts for some of it. But I still maintain that the black ones are a step above the others somehow. Since I wasn’t thrilled with the acid washes, I took the opportunity to polish them since I figured that it wasn’t likely to make them any worse. Besides, now I’m better about weighing the halves and shooting for parity, which has definitely improved things on at least a couple of yoyos.

But I guess my question is this: has anyone else bought a few of a particular model and found that they don’t play exactly the same?

Yes. Definitely. Every yoyo I’ve ever had more than one of, plays differently.

I had two iceberg classics (before they were “classics”) and one was significantly more fun. I feel like every butterfly or butterfly XT I’ve gotten plays slightly better or worse than the last. My first Origen played better than my second. and on and on…

I’m assuming it has something to do with machining tolerance but I’m definitely interested to hear other peoples opinion on this. It’s def something I think about from time to time.

They definitely do. You’re not wrong. I’ve even noticed it with same color way throws though.
