What did you get in the mail, 2024?

I agree, cool guy :hugs:

I enjoyed it after putting another bearing in, but I wanted to return to the original bearing. It felt like a better setup with the OG bearing before it started grinding. I cleaned the OG bearing so it was smooth again, then it did the same thing after about 10 minutes of play! So, back to the drawing board!

Love the 720sā€¦ not sure how i feel about the big dealā€¦ didnā€™t know that was a model name so was expecting a great dealā€¦ not a tiny yoyo.

Maybe itā€™ll grow on me

Sorry to hear that. Did you run it dry? Not sure if you did but I find I have to remove the covers to get a good clean. And then I let it soak in small amount of uncut simple green. And for me some bearings it doesnā€™t seem to matter what I do.

I definitely switched to a difeyo or something similar. I always switch out my center tracks for konkave or flat, unless the throw just arguably plays better with a CT, which I rarely find to be the case. Although, I did play it for awhile, at first, with the CT and I didnā€™t notice any spin time issues.

A good way to crank up spin time with any SE throw, in my experience, is to put in some heavier side effects. Brass will really get it spinning forever, but keep in mind that this also increases center weight which can decrease stability.

Yeah, I deshielded it, cleaned with acetone, then ran it dry. Iā€™ll play with it some more. Iā€™ve never tried Simple Green. How long do you soak it and what do you do to remove the simple green?

I normally let it soak at least an hour or overnight. To rinse I just pass it briefly under the faucet a couple times. I started using it after soaking my bike chain in acetone and it didnā€™t do much if any removing of the lube. And I use relatively light lube on it. Then I tried using the simple green, I still had to brush but it removed it easily. Rinse with hose and then compressed air.

Thatā€™s what I was thinking on the Big Deal too, that it would be a great deal, not the actual name. Iā€™m regretting not getting those 720s though. I thought for sure they would be scratched beyond ugly like in the photo.

Iā€™m going to have to wait for a couple hours yet. For now I just know that it is dead smooth.

Todayā€™s mail day. The mail person showed up after I had to go to work of course so I will get to play with these as soon as Iā€™m home

That is a fun mail day.

My first real impression is that it plays more like a Delrin yo-yo than a hybrid. The rings donā€™t provide a particular sensation of power or stability.

As a revision of a full Delrin yo-yo, I think that this is fine. Based on other Delrin/POM yo-yos that I have, the weight rings are providing performance at a size/weight distribution that is otherwise hard to achieve.

As someone who likes Delrin, Iā€™m very happy.
