What did you get in the mail, 2023

Arlo #1 nice! Are you gonna open it?

“I got mail”My first BST purchase! RBC.
Thinking I’m gonna like it. - Curious to throw both a lightweight responsive (my first sub 50g.throw) and a small MR85 bearing like my Origen (both models MK1 input).

@OhDavidBowie (Josh) made it happen! 5 Stars :star: :star: :star: :star: :star:

If you like responsive yo-yos you will probably love the rbc.

I love that colorway. I have a clear and wish I had a red

Mark from MK1 has clarified before that the Origen was a contract design and not a collab FWIW.

Also either way it’s pretty great too.

Yea, I remember practically wearing out the tape on Rodney Mullens part on Questionable.

Years later “Yea Right” was mind-blowing too. :exploding_head:

It’s finally here.
Was it worth the wait? Yes, absolutely!
Also, really like the whole “saved from the junkyard” side story of this batch.

I can picture Rodney in a tennis court right now. What a wonderful world! I never saw Yea Right. Must have been out of the skate game by then. I definitely have to check it out. I can still enjoy a skate video to this day.

Questionable had such an amazing soundtrack. Multiple genres too. Skate videos got me into so much music that I still listen to this day.

Funny that your name is Joe. My oldest friend named Joe is who I got into skating with. He was with me when I bought Questionable. We each bought a video then went back to my house to watch them. Can’t remember which one he got, but we were blown away by Questionable. We barely see each other these days because we don’t live that close, but I just saw him about a month ago and gave him a YYF Whip, hoping to get him into this new hobby of mine! Not sure it’s going to happen, doesn’t sound like he’s touched it much so far. I know he’d like it if I could just get him deep enough into starting it. Anybody have tips for how they do that with people?

Sorry to all for going so far off topic, and not being brief about it. So much skating nostalgia, can’t control myself.

I for one did enjoy your write up pretty much. Got a bit sentimental over those shared experiences and memories about Skate Videos and their soundtracks. I did exactly the same with my old Skate Friend. Buying decks, equipment and Skate Videos and heading to his place applying Griptape and Trucks while having those videos (and the music) run in the background. Great times I wouldn’t want to miss for anything in the world. Skating also taught me valuable lessons about perseverance, pain and community.

That is “Green Ghost”. 100% positive.

Edit:

Top: Ink Pot
Bottom: Cool Ghoul

These are Stickman’s pictures, by the way. I sold him that Ink Pot Chief a long time ago. I currently own a Green Ghost Chief and it’s my personal favorite of the Chief colorways.
