how is the Sengoku Nobumecha
Came in this past week. Wish Markmont would label the strings in their sampler pack, so I did it myself!
Today was a surprise double mail day.
Rainbow Galaxy Respawn Lite. Ive had this yoyo in thr past and sold it, but the colorway was impossible to resist. Hope this one stays in my collection this time lol
Also got my Superblack Icarus for winning @DocPop’s Trick Naming contest recently. The Icarus is SO GOOD. Those that like high-walled organics, this is a must. Feels like a wider, floatier panorama/diorama, especially the way it feels in the hand. Really happy I got this, now I just need the Bolt 2 to complete my Superblack collection.
Still growing my General yo collection, and what is a General yo collection without a 5 star v2? The blast on this version is the best blast of any yoyo I have ever used in regards to it’s ability to grind. Didn’t have the original bearing, so the guy threw a full ceramic in it for me (God bless him, this thing is a machine.)
Also got a purple OG Yeti, to this day one of my favorite plastics. And for a plastic, this thing can grind really nice too.
I somehow found a Backstage Pass still in stock somewhere so I snagged it. I’m loving it! The whole experience is awesome. Just waiting on new foam I probably measured wrong haha.
I also got a Data Vac for cheap on eBay. I’ve already used it enough to cover 4 cans of compressed air so I think it was a good investment for me haha. Love being able to give a yo-yo a quick dusting then use the larger nozzle to obliterate dust from my fan.
The Icuras is great!
dude i LOVE it! I’m not sure why I didnt pay attention to it before but I’m glad I won this one. It just feels good to throw, the combination of big, wide, fast, and floaty is awesome
Totally agree it’s a pleasure to play
I love the Yeti! I’d really like to see the same plastic material used on other throws.
Same here, I remember CLYW stating the material was not something they wanted to work with again, but I’m unsure why. If someone could find a way to work with it though, it would be wonderful to see more throws made out of it.
It’s a really exciting mail day! I’ve been following At Design Lab for a couple of months and I’m glad I was able to try one of their throws.
The Mono next to a second run Peak. It’s very different feeling compared to what I expected. Honestly I was thinking it was going to be a peak clone but the play style is very different. It has much thicker rims and lower inner walls so it doesn’t have the same level of float as the originals. It’s a lot more stable and he said it’s based off the hitman and peak but it definitely plays closer to a hitman than a peak. Stable, pretty good speed, and some float but not as much as the og peak.
Just some manufacturer notes on this guy. The finish is pretty intense kind of like the og ywet. I could see this being a string cutter in the future. They come in half dark gray and half light gray. It has 1 to 2 small ano defects and some fingernail vibe. Overall it’s an excellent throw and I would recommend it!
For packaging notes it came well packed from Japan and the yoyo itself has a black velvet bag but no string. My recommendation for string on this guy is Takeshi regular thickness string.
Also just a personal note but the one thing I would change is round the outside edge just a bit more. It’s a little sharp for my taste.
That gray yoyo, where i can read more about it?
Thank you
More like “What did you get in the store, 2022,” but
I was in Target today and finally caught them all. Figured I’d take a family photo before the all became half swaps
do both body and cap half swaps
I was planning to do swapped halves but matching caps. We’ll see how they look.
Happy cake day! If you got one directly from Zipline in 2021, it’s the latest run of the original 6061 Honey Badger.
