Interesting insight! This might be the first lackluster comment I’ve seen on the Top Deck. I’m mostly interested because it’s so highly regarded, so thank you for being a balance. I also understand that everyone is different. Probably why there’s not a lot of chatter about the Haymaker OG or better yet, the Amusing Max. Great throws in my opinion, but they don’t seem popular here. I’m still interested in the TD, but your thoughts on it bring it back to Earth.
Intertia of a rotational body is only dependent of the (squared) distance of a given mass-unit from the rotation axis. It does not matter where said mass lies with respect to the width of the yoyo. Thus the indicating circles should be more like below (orange/green) to distinguish the “rim” and “mid” contributions.
Yea but theres 2 outer rims X & Y axis, moving more weight on these 2 will have different perceived effects. And more weight away from center of gravity the very outside on both X & Y away from axle in a 3d model. Im sure there is a name for each of these in conjuction to rotational energy. Right? Idk im not a physicist but im sure theres something to that
I have one Ti and several other “premium” throws. I need a Pelican case. Thanks for the idea.
This is pretty spot on. I think of it like how Panorama and Diorama are compared. The Rev/Dio are lighter and have better overall performance (more modern) and the Pano/Topdeck have more overall weight and power, with a certain presence that feels really enjoyable in play (more old school).
It all comes down to preference and personal experience, in the end. As a more laid back player, I prefer the Top Deck over the Rev, but I love both.
One thing that isn’t mentioned is how long it can keep going even at low RPM’s. When I get into a serious groove, Top Deck seems to be able to just keep going and going and going until there’s barely any spin left and still be able to bind successfully at the end.
Ayyyyy!!! Enjoy!!
Exactly! No yoyo is ever more satisfying to me than my Top Deck (I have a Free Solo too and love it).
Kids won’t be getting any Butterflys in their stockings this year because all the yoyo veterans will have snatched them up!
Exactly
Today I received a One Drop Code 2 Nautilus, not perfect as it’s got a couple of of love taps on it.
I know it’s not a yoyo, my first go at Kendama.

Nice orange, does it have a bit of copper color when seen live?
give them the old models… lol.
I think the lighting makes it look brighter. I will compare it to my other orange OD when I get home tonight.
Got a very cool throw in the mail today thanks to @yoyo_cubicle.
RBY Overture picked from the @Yoyo_Garden . Why reinvent the wheel when you could just make it a lil’ bigger?
Side note: I’m looking to swap my red half for an orange or gray one if anyone’s interested.
