What did you get in the mail, 2022?

Malivore in Big Sky. My initial impressions are not great, in part because this thing has to live up to the Saboteur. It feels pretty good on the string, but I am not a fan of the response/wall. Feels like it’s trying to do two things at once: simulate a low wall and still allow for some high wall features, like good control over plane adjustment and regens - and it doesn’t seem do either very well, at least in comparison to other similar designs. I had a similar opinion regarding the Mk1 Contact. Would much rather have seen GWAY reuse the Saboteur’s thinner schmoove and flat-planed wall, or otherwise commit to one idea. Mine also has substantially more vibe than my Saboteur, and came with some masking material left on the surface (not a big deal, but shows me the attention to detail might be slightly lacking for this release). The ano and blast are outstanding, though, and might just redeem it for me. Love this blue and the gold/orange calls to mind kintsugi. Very cool.

Mirage ESD- Significantly more power than the older, smaller 6061 Mirage, not as fast though…Very special indeed.

Sengoku Hanzo- An unfamiliar noise from a yo-yo that makes you smile every time.

TopYo Cloud- As close as you can get to a Crucial Delrin these days, and it’s a dead smooth Delrin. Plenty in stock right here at YYE for $25. Very similar ergonomics to a Kappa.

Torrent II- Blast from the past and still amazing.

Free2Throw LiV- Still getting used to it, feels a bit like an undersized Mythril Flux.

Mowl Heterogeneity- Thought the splash would look cooler in person, it doesn’t haha. But because it’s a Mowl it’s got street cred. Surprised they’re still in stock given how fast the first run in Blue sold out.

I have the same reaction to the Hanzo. Got mine recently and that wind noise is so unique. Yes, it makes me smile when i throw it too.

@Shwa, Finally!!! Around 2,5 months since the purchase.

I must say that this setup is somehow VERY good!
The feeling on the string reminds me the Valkyrie that I have been playing.

Terrific!

Summit DSE! So good, right? I’m glad you got to try it. The disks play really well in the Atmos Khuno as well.

I’ve got Valkyrie too. I feel ya. It’s light a softer version, Summit DSE.

You can try! It hurts. Parlay does play super nice with them too.

Can you say Impulse purchase…

Actually plays really well and, honestly look at that spin!..

Does it make any unwanted sounds while it’s spinning?

I had a pistolero that would whistle a lot when I threw it and it bothered me a bit because it could be so gosh darn loud sometimes.

This thing is dead silent… i would put it in with my quietest yoyo. Been throwing it for 20 min and it’s a pleasure to throw catch and look at while spinning.

Happy cake day my friend!

So i was wrong… now that i got home and threw this at home where there is no constant background noise i noticed that the yoyo mashes a wind kind of sound as is flying through the air, it’s absolutely addictive!

I think this is a very cool addition to any collection.
