Oh! I love the matching half-swaps!!
Looks SO much better than 1 solid and 1 half-swap!
Wait a minute… how do you even throw that thing? Is it the same as a “regular” top?
You throw it different from a regular spin top. It doesn’t flip over, you throw it forehand with the point pointing down. Really lots of fun to try to hit tricks on.
So do you wind it up the same way?
Similar. Here are pics showing it wound and how you hold it for the throw. There’s a knot at the end of the string instead of a button, you just clip the knot between your ring and pinky fingers.
Dude, that OG looks sweet! I love the engraving on it.
Sometimes less is more
Nice! Prototype? Or new run? The regular run had a different nipple.
Almost, the first protos and run #1 had the small horn, but proto #4 and run #2 and #3 had the large horn (see Saint Eel | ILYY.de).
This particular specimen is of run #3 (walnut shell polish).
I’ve seen these talked about pretty much since I started as one of the best organics that you can get, and so I’ve wanted one for quite a while, but it just never seemed to line up for me… until a few weeks ago.
Finally got myself a OD MC a couple weeks ago, and it certainly lives up to the hype. This thing flows like water.
Oh man, that black looks so clean
It really is good. Which side effects do you have it with?
I have the silver domes on it, and he also sent the brass domes that came with it. I’ve been meaning to throw them on and try them out, but haven’t gotten around to it yet.
