Here you go. And it’s true as the article says, the best sounding combo I’ve ever played through.
Dreamcraft Asora test type 02, super fun, love how this one is easing into my collection
ignore my very bad weight rings
Woah. Hadn’t seen this one. Those amp guts are on point!! That grille….that handle…the finish. It’s a work of art.
Love that grouping! That nickel looks so good.
Funny how the perspective of your photo makes the parlay look HUGE!
Nice pic!!!
Love the red and blue combo on that! Haven’t heard much on the Dema, but have had more interest in Polyform since @KorinaMcCarty mentioned it to me.
that tishee looks beautiful with all the love marks
it has so many more now too Still plays like an absolute champ. Love it to death
Is that an Unknown Ascender? Looks similar if custom. Like the clasp.
Uh oh…… here I go again, lol>
I guess I’m just getting a second win on how much more I like titanium yo-yos that look titanium as opposed to titanium yo-yos that are treated to look like anything but titanium.
I am not suggesting that the makers just bore everybody to death titanium yo-yos in a natural finish. But for me personally, from the day I received a titanium.Thesis That was completely completely black, I knew it was only a matter of time before I decided to bring the finish back to the OG.
The yo-yo in the following pics, basically fell into the same category. A titanium yo-yo with a beautiful dust finish on it. But when you look at it if you didn’t know any better it doesn’t look at all titanium. It looks very good. But I like the titanium look better. And… Even though I’m very careful with my yo-yos, a natural titanium finish can take a lot more handling and light scuffing without looking like you’re beating it up.
So here we are with a Luftverk masterpiece design Called the Ultima. Just as I did with the D Runner, and the Ti Thesis, I left the finish in the cups intact. More often than not I lean towards Two tones. So natural finish on the titanium Body and leaving the color in the cups is fine with me.
When I chucked the first half, and I knew what I committed to do, I thought to myself, is this a crime against nature? But then I thought to myself, I paid for the sucker. If I want to perform what I call a beautification program, that’s up to me.
Fortune rewards the Bold. Which has very little if anything to do with this yo-yo mod, but I always like the way that sounded.
Tah-dah>
PS. If you look real close, you’ll notice, there are some interruptions in the continuity of the brush finish. All I did basically underpower, was clean and finish off the house with 500 grit, wet and dry… Followed by a couple passes with a red scotch, bright pad… Followed with a couple normalizing passes with a four OOOO steel wool pad. I use no polish to give the halves a very even sheen. So the finish that you see is what I call a utility finish. Once I throw it around for a while, I will decide how fine of a finish I want to put on it.
I just mentioned this because some of you guys have eyes for high precision. And I’ve been modding for so many years. I’m certain a certain percentage expect a high-level of precision when I customize something. So if you stare at each half, or compare, one half to the other, and you see a couple lines or would appear to be slightly irregular unevenness in the brushed finish, trust me… I see it too. To me, as often is not, the majority of my titanium do not sit around collecting dust. And for that matter, I could chuck them up and refinish them every day until they disappear. But why bother? I’m gonna be manhandling this thing. It might even hit the ground. Hard enough to strike oil. So utility finish is fine for the purpose. It might not be the greatest finish for the photos. Oh well, these pics aren’t the centerfold for yo-yo magazine.
