Thanks! I actually sold my Mk7 GTI for that bad boy. Car drew a bit too much attention, and i started really wearing out suspension bits with that ride height…
The GTI is tons of fun, easily makes power with a tune and downpipe, but… WAGONS ARE THE BEST! I’m a big fan of the Mk7 platform, really stout engine block too. Keep up on the DSG services (40k interval I believe) and that trans will take care of you.
Ive been doing every possible maintenance routine, not trying to lose my DSG or the DPF. Two potential mega repairs, and I’m hoping to get every last mile out of my EA288. The MK7 platform is so good, the chassis is just incredible. Amazing road manners and drives like a dream. Once my CPO warranty expires on the powertrain (150k, thanks dieselgate), I plan on doing at least stage one tune and maybe get drop ride height just a tad.
Legend Wing for fixed axle Friday, with a wooden counterweight I made by just rounding the corners of a wooden cube and cutting a groove for the string.
Unresponsive current pick is the Epsilon from @TSAF , partly because it’s a great throw and party because my yoyo shelf is full and it’s the newest yoyo I’ve bought so it’s currently living in front of the shelf, meaning it’s what I see first
A bunch of CLYWs. Does anybody else ever just take an entire case of yoyos outside? Sometimes I feel like throwing a bunch of different stuff back to back to directly compare how they play.
Thanks! This was actually just a temporary set up. I wanted to have a latex foam insert with circle cut outs made for it, but I think I’ve decided now that I like the size versatility of the EVA dividers. So when I have time, I’m going to take them out (currently just glued in with an adhesive tape) and sand them so they are rounded and cleaner looking on the top.
Deep State with orange domes - i like the change of pace on one of my most commonly used edc throws
Gravity with black ULs - i feel like this plus the rubber rings is my favorite set up so far. I also added a non-flat bearing of some sort and it really changed my opinion on the yoyo overall compared to the brass ULs and MO flats previously used
Panorama with brass ULs - i did not like this one bit and went back to the original clear legos
Deep State with blue ULs - just color swapped them and still happy
OG (i think) MC with purple flats - this yoyo plays well with every SE it seems and the color is nice
MCMO nickel - i think i like the lower center weight with the heavier body
Rebirth with blue MO flats - nice change for this throw that i use way less than the others
Got my dad to try out my Deep State today while I was throwing a Ditch. He attempted a rock the baby, and I think he got embarrassed when he couldn’t remember how to position his offhand after grabbing the string in all the right places. Will report back again when he experiences success…
Havent been home in 8 days so I’ve been enjoying my backyard this morning with my current favs. Feels like its been ages since I’ve been able to throw for over an hour straight, very good Sunday so far.
