Been having a recap day with my three favorite 2014 records to come out in Norway in 2014. Thought I might share some of it with you guys. It’s been quite a good year actually, so I hope some of you like one or more of these artists.
Emilie Nicolas - Like I’m a warrior.
This girl suddenly got a deal with Sony music Norway and put out an amazing debut record. Good voice on top of well made, often complex beats, and songs that often won’t care about standard pop-forms. Example:
Todd Terje - It’s album time
This guy has been producing stuff for a while, but this is his first full-length album. Modernized disco with a great groove and great use of dynamics. Nice varied album with a nice Bryan Ferry collaboration towards the end. Example:
Highasakite - Silent Treatment
These guys just keep on making great songs without sounding like they are going on repeat. Nordic melancholy woven in with solid songwriting and production. Example:
