What are you doing today?

Finished conversion of an old swing set into a new chicken coop! Spent about 65$ on wire… everything else I had on hand! Used every last scrap though and had to get creative!

Today I’m buzzing because I’ve finally been able to reveal what my team and I have been working on at Hulu for the last year and a half.

3 years ago Hulu (under prior leadership) launched a radical new ui that pushed boundaries but was also complicated and at times difficult to use. Today, press embargo lifted and the interviews I gave to reporters hit the wire.

If you’re interested in reading about it, Tech Crunch has a nice writeup.

Very nice Gnome-Gnomes! That looks like a lot of work! Lucky chickens! lol

@jasonwongzero Whoa…that’s pretty bad ■■■■■■■■ you were part of such a major project for such a super well known site!!

Today I picked up a pair of new glasses. My old pair was over 10 years old and I couldn’t pass the eye exam to renew my driver’s license >.<'.
I can see again!

Waiting for USPS to deliver my Masamini 2, Pyro X and Porykon weight. While I wait, I decided to build a park in Planet Coaster full of replicas of infamously rough and bad rides from various parks… Those ones that jerk you around, slam your head, and were complete failures to the park.

Flashback that once lived at Six Flags Magic Mountain (that lived at 2 other Six Flags parks as Z-Force). When it moved to Magic Mountain it got incredibly rough. I never did ride that one.

The beginnings of the failed Windjammer down at Knotts Berry Farm (was my first looping coaster and I’m still alive to tell the tale :). Windjammer was known for stalling in the wind, stress fractures, and being very rough. Knotts sued he manufacturer who ultimately went into bankruptcy.

Then I saw the mail truck zip by on the security cans so I popped out like an excited kid and worked on some 5A on the front porch until he dropped off my package

Started day 1 of a new cycling plan. Its been a while since I’ve done a heavily structured program but I’m curious how my progress will compare to just doing what I’m in the mood for that day.

Also, YouTube isn’t blocked at work anymore

Thank @gregoryfromearth ! I had fun building it! Since I confiscated my girls old swing set I built them a new pallet play house out of other materials I had on hand! Still a work in progress, but they are loving it!

Pulling out yoyos I have not played in awhile. I need to do this more often instead of buying more yoyos. I don’t even know when I will be called back to work and my unemployment has not kicked in yet and while I have enough money for June bills and rent - July is not looking very good at all - actually looking downright depressing. I was just throwing my YoyoKing Grind Control, Spin Control, and Double Agent and man, I forgot how much I loved them. YoyoKing gets no love but I suspect quite a few people here have them.

Good call, man. I am making an effort to rotate through all my throws and my Spin Control is on tap for tomorrow. While there’s a little attachment because it was my first metal, it is a legitimately solid throw.

Yoyomaze…
I’ve got that and am able to use it by linking it to the version of the quicktime on the disk using wine on linux. I was also able to get it to run on windows 7 using the supplied version of quicktime as well. It takes a bit of fiddling though. Actually it’s a very instructive piece of work.

Still has not kicked in?!? I remember what felt like a while ago, we were talking about how long it typically took (for me, it was exactly 2 weeks before I saw anything on what I’d be getting. I was also paid from the very beginning of when I initially filed (retro pay?). Hope that unemployment gets working for you soon! Too bad trying to get a hold of a live person is next to impossible…at least that’s how it is with CA’s EDD.

The Mall of America in MN is re-opening on the 1st, so I’m just waiting for my work schedule. There should be a new YYF Skyline waiting for me that I ordered just before we shut down, so I’ve got hubstacks to look forward to, if nothing else.

Some dudes are installing new windows in my master bedroom while we (wife, toddler, and myself) stare mindlessly at our laptops pretending we can focus while the tools bang and the dogs bark their faces off in the backyard.

How dare they try and get you new windows.
Preposterous!

Oh I fully expected to be at work, and the boy at school, when this went down. Scheduled it around November 10th, but they are weird sized windows so the custom order took a while to complete. They should be done pretty quick.

Just found out that my Siamese, Jasper has passed away. The neighbor found him 2 days ago and buried him in her backyard. I’m not yet sure what happened.

I was his human. He came to me one day while I was visiting at my parents and adopted my family. A large, pushy, and aggressive cat, Jasper loved as fierce as he fought - and he loved to fight. Even my dad, who is not found of cats, was in love with him.
May you be forever at peace my friend. You will be missed eternally.
