Stumbled across the soundtrack for this game Monument Valley 2 lately. This track is really beautiful and as a composer I just adore the Steve Reich-esque minimalist texture that gets filled in by the bass and percussion. Super pretty.

Breaks.

Also working on cleaning up my disaster of a man cave. The goal is to get to a point where I can set up the DJ booth😁
There’s still a bit of work to do, but I made a great deal of progress yesterday.
Here’s a teaser shot.:sunglasses:

Just realized those are XL-500s. I have the same. Your mixer and overall setup looks way nicer though. I haven’t actually used mine in years…guitars, drum machines, and synths take up all my music time.

I’m dedicating more time to the things I feel truly define me. Ever since I quit my job (1.5 weeks ago) I’ve been purging my life of clutter and rekindling my most favored relationships.

Beyond the music training I had all through my schooling, my bond with that stack of wood is intense.
I was given the DJ booth by a great friend of mine, who also passed a number of other torches to me( figuratively and literally). It’s face was a test panel for the walls that would become a temple the Austin crew built and ignited at the Burning Man. It has been my command station at our camp at the local burn for more than 13 years. It’s a peice of the burn that always lights up my home, for the burn is home.:fist:

And I love the gear on top too! I’ve got too many mixers and turntables( or not😉) , and I really need to send my MPC to Akai for repairs.

Still would love to have some pioneer cdj’s and some Technics 1200’s. One day.:sunglasses: :rainbow:

Back in the day I really wanted some 1200s but way too pricey. Now I’m glad I didn’t get them since I didn’t stick with spinning. 1200s with a rane or vestax mixer was my dream setup back then.
