Yes water proof is “wet” sand paper.
Yea stupid question. thanks for a patient answer.
No problem. I love helping any way I can.
I want to strip and polish a popstar.
And I’m not sure how to, anyone got any tips?
What type of sandpaper, wet or dry, what type of polish.
What grain of sand paper should I start with, and end with? Like the steps?
Thanks.
As the pic describes I used 3m wetordry sandpaper from advance auto parts store in 320, 400, 600 ,800, 1000, 1500, and finally ending in 2000 grit. I spun it on a dremel at 5000 rpm (although it slows the dremel down quite a bit when you apply pressure) I made strips of paper and gently moved from the inside of the yoyo to the outside (but not slowly or like speedy either). A decent speed all in one flow. After each paper I used steel wool very lightly for ONE SWIPE from inside to outside just to clean it up a bit each time. After the paper I buffed and polished the yoyo with mothers mag and aluminum polish you get from the same store as the paper. I used many steps of paper which was probably overboard but im new to this so I didn’t want to take anymore chances. Read the rest of the thread to understand my plight.
Nice work.
A 1/4 or 3/8 inch drill works pretty well and will probably not slow down like the dremel when you apply pressure.
Thanks. Appreciated all the help!
