Well if they spoke in absolutes than they could be called fibbers if something changes after said proclimation. So this way they cover all bases. Like saying “Allegedly” before or after any claim nullify the concrete nature of a claim.

Maybe my emphasis should have been more on the timing description. Couldn’t they just say “snow is likely through the night”?
