If you’re interested in that kind of thing and want to further brown your undies, look up “The Doomsday Machine” by Daniel Ellsberg. Ellsberg worked for Rand Corp and had a front row seat for the development of a lot of our nuclear warmaking planning and infrastructure and is nowadays a staunch ani-proliferation advocate. Super interesting—and terrifying—read.
