W1ld Anceps or YYR Savage?

Has anyone tried or own both? What are your thoughts?

Recently tried upshift and loved it thus the anceps option else i will most probably go for savage

I like the upshift a lot too. Interested in finding out how either of these throws compare to it, I would have thought the higher weight on both would make them quite different!

I would consider upshift better than anceps personally unless you like heavy-feeling yoyos. If you like heavy, savage plays heavier than either yoyo imo. Very dense yoyos, all are good.

i have both and would recommend you go with your gut about the savage! I’ve been in love with this thing since I got it (so much that I bought the other savage variants). They do both definitely have similar DNA, feel very present, powerful and hefty on the string, but can both also be pushed for stupid speed (literally Kasuga’s whole playstyle  ) have you looked at the Contrast by W1ld? I have it as well and it seems like sorta the perfect in between of these 2 if you’re still undecided!

Nice! Have you tried a messiah before? Was wondering if the heavy feeling of messiah can be comparable to the anceps/savage. Personally i do not have much experience with heavier yoyos but i do love my messiah alot.

Are you talking about the contrast with ss/pom or pc/brass? I have the ss/pom contrast and it feels sooo light and just flies on the string.

I thought the upshift will play lighter but it surprised me, very nice feeling on the string.

could look at the unprld tenacity or c3 enigmatica if you want a heavier feeling bimetal

between the two in your post I like the savage more personally, but I think it plays lighter/faster than the anceps.

I do have a messiah (the bimetal one) would definitely say that the bigger diameter with anceps & savage helps a lot with spreading out the weight distribution. Relative to the messiah they both will def feel lighter on the string with the savage feeling just a bit lighter and faster, but again I’m pretty sure the messiah (bimetal one specifically as i haven’t tried the monometal) was made to feel extra hefty with all that rim weight.

I personally got it in brass/pc, but definitely can attest to everything you said about it, if you are enjoying the tri material, I think you’d really like the savage!

Yeah i’m guessing that if i’m okay with messiah’s weight i should have no problem handling either anceps or savage since the weight is more spreaded out.

Does the brass contrast plays light and fast still? Contrast is really the one yoyo that blows my mind everytime i throw it.

yes it is still super light and fast! does not at all feel like 66.3g i wish i had the ss one to compare. they did a lot to make this yoyo play outside of it’s specs and its awesome

W1ld’s throws are really up there.

In my experience no, it plays quite hefty and relaxed. It’s very different feeling to the standard Contrast which I would agree with your original description plays really light and manoeuvrable.
