Tucson, AZ - yoyo/kendama

Looking to learn some more tricks from my peers. Looking to get a small group together at a bar on a Sunday afternoon sometime to throw. Three of us now, fairly novice. Hit me up if interested.

Hey man.

Do you happen to live near the Park Place mall? There’s a club that gets together there every Saturday from 1pm-3pm. It’s sponsored by the store Game Daze, and has a pretty good group of about 8 regulars. I go just about every week to hang out and teach. If you guys are close you and your buddies should stop by.

I knew about that one, but unfortunately we all work every Saturday. I’ll definitely keep that in mind if I every take a Saturday off. Thanks.

Do they still meet at the Park Place Mall to yoyo?

I don’t think they do.

Would be awesome to get something going in Tucson again though.

nothing in tucson right now

we should probably get a club running

Yes, we should. I’m a n00b yoyoer, and don’t have much free time to run a club, but I’d be happy to help in whatever ways I can. I’ve got yoyos I could donate for kids/ new people to use at meet ups.

we should gauge interest

if you from or near tucson and want a club

please respond to post

Dang, I didn’t notice the date on the first two posts right away and I got excited thinking that the Game Daze re-opened at some point :joy: That’s where I bought my first metal yoyo in like 2010. (I don’t live nearby anymore though, so can’t jump on the club train).

Wish I knew there was a yoyo scene when I last came through!

I go out of my way to hit Tucson on road trips. Love the hiking/outdoors and tacos. Aqui con el Nene and the Tacos Apson on S 12th are my favorites.

YYF did some filming and catalog shots at the aircraft boneyard one year too.

In Tucson and interested.

Any interest @Retro-Yo ?

Both great taco spots. There used to be an El Nene next to my work, might have eaten lunch there a bit too often.

I bought one of the “club boxes” from the RCS going out of business sale, mostly because it was such a screaming deal. Happy to donate this to have yoyos on hand for kids and new players to use.

Sorry I missed this. I was incredibly busy with work out of state.

Myself and another local talked about a club yesterday and he said he would start one. Probably just some public meetups. Anyway I said I would help….. but I dont want to run or organize amything :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:.

I will post here when we have more details. Probably a social page coming soon. If anyone is interested or has ideas let me know.

That’s awesome! I still have the RCS club box I’ll donate, and I’m happy to help out here and there, but can’t commit to too much due to out of state travel for work and lots of kids sports activities.

So I have done nothing lol. All credit to Connor for making this a reality. He clearly has the passion to push things forward and have a proper club.
