Week 23 Tech n Roll
Happy Friday everyone! This week we’re going to work on a tech trick from Diego. It’s pretty straightforward and is one that starts and ends in different mounts so it can be used as a transitional element in a combo.

Anyone have any advice on rolling into the string after that thumb pull part?

This was definitely the hardest part of the trick for me and it helped to focus on sending the yoyo a bit more up vs over to the side like once you get some vertical movement, the string should be out of the way enough so that you can hit the correct string. Just my observations and if other ppl have things that worked for them, I wanna hear also bc that part was annoying for me.

for me i noticed that when i was setting up for the thumb pluck, if i let the yo sink in the mount it basically split the difference with the string behind the yoyo and what was in front. that gave me more string to work with on the nth side of the mount and i was able to comfortably open the configuration up more with my nth. diego calls it an underpass with the thumb, but the move looked to me more like the way a protrusion looks so i tried to do it more like that, making the mount long and trying to pull it through my hand…sorta. it’s not really a full pull. i don’t know if that’s any help at all and sry for the background noise but if this vid or my explanation isn’t clear lemme know
i know thats not the specific part you asked about but it’s what i was focusing on that seemed to give me enough string on my nth to get it good and open so the correct string was easier to roll onto

Happy Friday! This week we’re doing a longer trick, but it should be fun to bounce through. None of the individual elements are incredibly challenging, so getting it quick and smooth (especially the drop into the triangle at the end) should be the goal.
