Kool hwip, actually really fun

Fun trick yo I like it. It’s cool how killing the momentum lets you shift from the 3d plane to trapeze plane hmmm. Seems so obvious saying that now but I hadn’t thought abt slacks like that before. Hmmm

Sorry for the delay (I keep getting sick) but I finally got the tut out! I hope this can help anyone else who is also confused on it

Need some help at the end of cool hwip, im struggling with the whip, every time I try im getting my strings crossed. Lets me unroll to a gt which is cool ig, but not what im going for :sob:

You’ve got it down, what happened in your video is during the 3D spin before the whip, your CW got caught up in the loop that becomes the whip, putting that twist in there that causes the GT. Honestly i’m gonna try to replicate that on purpose and see if you can whip straight into GT in a smooth motion! But for the original trick just make sure the cw stays separated from the loop that becomes the whip, it appears the twist up happened right after you caught the 3D spin and repositioned everything in your non throwhand before going for the whip. Hope that helps!

Filmed a short video showing what I think is happening with the GT. You guys accidentally discovered a very cool variation on a 17 year old trick!! But hopefully this helps you get the original down.

yeap ive been paying attention and the couple times it’s happened for me is def what you say, the die just flips through the loop. gonna try to give them more separation before the whip. thanks!

edit: ok think I’ve bout got it sorted. in case anyone else is having that same trouble, for me it was def the 3d slack swing where it was haplening. especially as i caught it, as the string hit my thumb sometimes the cw would wrap around my thumb which sent it through the loop

Cool! So i was actually twisting it in a completely different spot to get that same end result!

After the first 3d element, i was dismounting to the inside which crossed the strings, so I was always getting the GT variation. Rewatching the tut it finally clicked im supposed to dismount that away from me for that.

Figuring that out i can now get either the gt or cross arm trapeze at will without rearranging anything

Thanks for pointing that out. I’m realizing I have a lot to learn about creating tutorials, in the video I just say “okay so dismount” and it never even crossed my mind that there are multiple ways to dismount  glad you figured it out!!!

Lol I kind of like when tutorials do that! The meat of the trick is the whip and glossing over the dismount keeps it open and let me find a dismount I liked. Also keeps the sequence open like less rigid so easier to slot into a longer combo or smt. I thought the tut was good for sure.

The dismount I was referring to isnt at the end, its the one in the middle after the first 3d element

Week 22 - Yoyobox Slack GT

This trick starts with a sequence that’s really similar to pancake flip (week 8), which should provide folks a good base to get into the second half from.

After that, it’s a 3D slack element, which always feel really flashy.

Week 22 5a Tangler

For our last 5a week I wanted to do something that was more of an element with a couple variations. Feel free to post it by itself or work out a combo using elements learned throughout the month. Have fun and I hope everyone had a good 5a May!

Slightly more difficult tangler:
