Here’s my humble submission. Maybe I’ll get around to learning Docs NTH Branding this week or do a combo later. I’ll play with it for sure.
I’ve also started to record some previous weeks for those that want to check it out. This far I’ve got rancid milk, y junction, bonesplint, Hitchhiker, black hops, hole in the bucket, and stuff I’ve already posted here. I’ve created a playlist to not bog down the thread.

Well Friday has forsaken me and my favorite fixie met it’s (temporary) end on the corner of a bookshelf. So here’s a mix of Branding and Kwyjibo in a repeater I call AdamantiumPops. Real creative. I will do this over and over forever before I realize and start doing other tricks. Zen or whatever.

Damn, lots of action in TaW today. I actually don’t know this trick still, gonna have to work on it this weekend. Was supposed to be getting my valley replacement in the mail tomorrow but looks like it got backed up til coming on Monday. Was lookin forward to playing it all weekend.

I just figured out branding. Kinda was confused for a little on the last part until I watched the doc pop tutorial where he teaches the trick brent first and it made it click. You got it down super clean for just learning it @theendofcake! I still gotta work on it some more to smooth it out and get it solid.

Branding is a very cool effect!
To add to the mix here is a reverse branding by doc pop that is pretty cool.
I’m gona try that slap branding this week for sure.
Edit… ok so i tried the slap back this morning and it’s seems to be a timing thing. Not actually that difficult if you can land branding in the first place. Thanks for the explanation @mable

Its ugly but i think i got the Takeshi Branding idea… i need a clean shirt, and maybe some coffee but i think this was a productive all nighter. Thank you for this week’s pic and discussion!

Yeah! Figuring out the timing of the pinch and getting comfortable with slapping the slack back before the loop falls apart and closes on you is super tricky.
In Takeshi’s version when you slap the slack, you want the slack to do a full revolution around the yoyo back to its original position before you swing the yoyo. But your version is like a unique trick in itself, your version is almost like a branding cancel. Branding in one direction and then a reverse branding before catching the slack, it’s cool!

Gonna keep working this, but couple days of progress working on the takeshi branding @mable posted.
I’ve never done slap slack kind of stuff before so it’s fun trying to figure it out. Tips very welcome. I’m currently focusing on keepig my index finger straight when I pinch.
Second half is a branding I started doing after watching doc pops video a while ago. figuring it out was one of the things that made me really feel like yo-yoing was starting to click.

I just had this video suggested to me randomly on youtube that has a branding in the middle of it. Thought it looked cool. Gonna have to try it out. I actually never seen their intro to redirects video he talks about in this video. Good elements mixed together I need to work on.

I’m not up on them redirects at all but they don’t seem too hard. I’m going to mess with it today and see where I get.
Definitely gonna practice learning the redirects with a plastic yoyo. Seems a little risky at first. ha

Nice! I should work on them too tbh…This is the absolute best intro to redirects video I’ve ever seen and the little arrows really help understand what is supposed to happen. Good luck!

I been meaning to work on that one from when you posted it for black hops but been putting it off for whatever reason. I procrastinate with some yoyo type stuff. I’m going to start working on that stuff.
