All I can imagine is the absolute mess of a clog titanium would be to cleanup. Do you just throw out the hot end at that point. Maybe in 10 years

Most of the metal printing requires sintering, which makes it impractical for a hobby level unfortunately. Considering the high temps mentioned in the article I bet this material needs it too.

its stated in the article, parts has been created using PBF, which means the feedstock is a powder bed which is molten up layer-by-layer by an high density energy source (laser/electronbeam), which makes it even more unaccesible for diy :smiley:

Using the “standard” 3d printing process with filament through a nozzle, after washing the polymers out the residual metal powder structure needs to be sintered. In Germany you can buy filament containing high amount of metallic powder, which can be processed by any filament 3d home printer and with buying the filament you automatically buy the right to do a certain amount of sintering jobs at their factory and its not even that crazy expensive, not sure if something like this exist in the states though
