Anyone have a Ti ZGRT Janus setup in a way that they like? I’ve had mine for while and can’t get it to really play well at all. Could be a skill issue with it being undersized. But it doesn’t seem to want to excel at anything besides being small. Tried greased bearing, full size bearing different string widths. Any tips appreciated.
I guess the question I have is what is your goal play style with the Janus? Do you want it to stall, do strong tricks but still return, or play fully unresponsive?
Full unres is easy get a regular center track bearing increased and have at it.
For responsive you’ll want a slim c and some silicone grease danco, traxxas, superlube, etc many brands but grease that bearing up. Then find a thick string and you should be all set to land stalls (it’ll be tricky)
Simi responsive just play it how it came it’ll do the string tricks and usually return.
Good advice. Maybe i’ll try the stalls. I don’t currently have a fixie setup. Guess it was mostly that i have other yoyos that do everything better. Like the heist is about the same size and such a better unresponsive. Responsive the deep state is not much thicker and plays so much better. Not a fair comparison cause its a bigger yoyo but carries about the same honestly. Maybe i’ll take it apart and learn contact coin lol.
Heist DeepState and TiJanus are slightly similar in some ways… but i think you should deff play with the set ups before dismissing the Ti Janus. I used to play the heist for my undersized unresponsive but i like the Ti Janus much better now. I have a regular Janus set up responsive and i can not compare it to the DeepState play because of its size but again responsive play also depends on if you want OA type play or more 1A on responsive.
Please experiment with your Janus more i think you will like it.
The length of the string is another thing you need to take into consideration. The length of the string that came in the original package is 36”.
That was totally it. Didn’t realize string length affected undersized throws so much. Cut it down to what i put my looping yoyos at and it responds so much better.
Totally confirm this with the Janus.
I run that maybe 2 inches shorter then my responsive set up.
Plays great
