Great list! I also prefer lighter throws and this looks like a pretty comprehensive list. If older throws are to be included, the Freehand Zero and YYJ Speeder series come in just under 60g without caps.

Pretty sure the project B @ep311 helped design is sub 60g

Yeah, it’s around 59g.

It’s so big and looks like it should be a lot heavier.

The Author is a really good yoyo, particularly given the price.

Any of the derts fit in this category

I agree. It’s extremely light but in my opinion I do not feel It offers me less power or spin time but I only do frontstyle so with sidestyle someone may have a different experience. Jeremy at RCS had this yoyo designed so he could play something lighter after an arm injury and he knows exactly what he’s doing with his yoyos designs so…

The Rain City $ deserves more attention, it’s a great and unique-felling yoyo that almost never gets mentioned. I actually prefer it over my Author though it’s hard to say why. Plus it’s only $30 for a solid.

New prototype spright from opyoyos. It’s amazing.55g with power. It’s witchcraft!!
I love light throw too and this is by far the best performing throw I’ve played at this weight. I cant put the thing down.

It LOOKS like it’s pretty darned powerful!

It has plenty of power, Stability that a bi-metal gives you but doesn’t have that stiffness that some bi-metal throws have. It’s the first throw I go for when I get home from work and usually the last to get put down before bed!!

That’s a really great design choice. Looks gorgeous! Does 55g ever feel too light?

You know who to hit up if you ever decide to part ways
