So I recently had the green light from my wife to get a new yoyo as a quarantine treat. I wanted to order from somewhere in Canada and wasn’t feeling any current RCS offerings, sorry Jeremy! - I still love you! There’s an online store that is local to me that has older stock (2018 and before) of Yoyojam and YYF. Was debating between the 888x and the OG edge, I decided to order the OG Edge in sweet purple (see image). The only other bimetal that I currently own is the MagicYoyo Stealth, which I think is nicely made but lacks character. The OG Edge interested me because the weight rings were placed slightly back into more of the mid-weight area and I love yoyos with some mid-weight (e.g. 2015 YYF Genesis, OD Cascase). What are everyones thoughts of the OG Edge in 2020? Either way, I’m pretty excited for it to arrive next week.

I love my Edge.
I have the Edge 1.5, which is pretty much the same with the weight being like a gram different. The Edge is definitely a good yoyo, I used it for competition for a whole year. It’s extra width helps with landing big and difficult tricks, it’s very stable and spins good. It’s not super fast but that ok. Definitely recommend!
The OG Edge is pretty legit. Here I am though throwing things from a decade ago on a daily basis.
I think I have the 1.5 version. It’s comfy in the hands, it’s powerful/stable, and if you’re into thumb grinds, it has that lip (I thumb grind more than I finger spin). You’re in for a nice quarantine treat 
I don’t throw my edge often, but it is very nice when I do decide to throw it.

Thanks for all of the feedback peeps! They ended up sending me this splash 1.5 edge instead (maybe they didn’t have purple in stock after all?). It was the one I almost picked though. It looks real nice and I was weary about the extra weight but it feels nice in the hand! Going to throw it this aft after I get some yard work done. 
That splash is hard to find. That’s a 1.5 BTW, which is 1.5 grams heavier in the rings than the OG Edge(there was a similar splash of the OG, which some people confuse with that one).
That was my favorite yo-yo for a good while(1.5 in that colorway). I ended up selling it, but only because I have an OG and another 1.5. I do miss that splash though—but it went to a good home with @Onefanatic, who is a big fan of the Edge and is using it in competition.
I still think it’s a great yo-yo. If I didn’t already have one, I’d get one.
You are lucky to have that Yoyo. It’s probably the best Yoyo ever. Yes I am using it in competition. It’s my favorite Yoyo ever. Enjoy it for what it is. The best Yoyo for just about everything.
