I know it’s dumb, but Rewind is kicking my butt. It’s all about accuracy and hitting the right strings. No problem with the trapeze and brother. Double or nothing is fine. When I go for the Brother on the double or nothing I can only hit it about half the time. Only once or twice have I been able to land the triple or nothing. Everything is just so tight in there. I’m using my fingers to try to keep the strings back so I can actually land that triple or nothing but I just can’t get it with any sort of consistency. The yo-yo will hit a second string or start to yaw or I’ll just misjudge how wide to keep my hands.
I know it’s all about repetition and getting accurate, but I’m really starting to hate that trick! Kwijibo, plastic whip, Matrix, jade whip, I got those. That dang Rewind though!

Not until I started to use Kendama knee bend was a able to get enough time to get the throw through the loop and land on the bottom string. Was like magic when I did it.
Similar feeling to landing beef hook it just appears.
Beef hook tutorials that helped me by hobbygod and Brandon Vu both help me get it down and understand why I was missing.
Helped me with beef hook
( Do not forget to move the back string out of the way toward your body so the whip coming around the throw hand index finger ( THIF ) does not get closed by hitting it as it passes around THIF to catch the throw.)
Spirit Bomb for a long while… just couldn’t make sense of the catch.
There are quite a few tricks that alluded me for a little while, but I get it down after a short time (or actually after watching the tutorial video properly).
There are moves that look similar (Beefhook) and super easy, I had no use in trying. Obviously I cannot do the trick… Frustration and yo-yoing are not in the mix for me.
I avoided Ninja Vanish for years, then worked at it for a couple of days. Now it seems easy, definitely a trick that looks harder than it is.
@mable@shwa my boys… this was right off the bat after I started to hit it kinda consistently and deciding to film it for the thread. Definitely not 100% consistency, but man it feels good. Excuse the t-shirt and background i don’t film yoyo trick vids.
One thing I learned was to pull the NTH thumb string backwards to my stomach after the release to get the slack to pull around and out of the way. I was pulling it but in a linear fashion and not as hard. The other thing is, I can land this one more consistently than the normal beefy hook - it may be easier idk.
Longer string helps for sure, and I think I’ve somehow improved since I’ve last changed string length because I’m at max length but have not dinked my yoyo at all which was a surprise.
Thanks for the motivation and advice everyone. Fail your way to Success.
