Yuji S Kelly won UK Nats. Also, Paolo won Brazillian Nationals (I wish Marechal had won though) and if you haven’t watched the top 3 yet, you really should. Ahmad Kharisma was really good too, as was Hiroyuki, but he had a few mistakes (that freestyle was the first time ever I had seen him change yoyos). Paul Kerbel was also pretty amazing. I also like Akitoshi Tokubuchi’s freestyle, it’s a repeat from Japan Nationals but I’m a big fan of him (seems I’m the only one).
Palli is from Iceland, so he would not be eligible to be the UK National Champion. He won the international competition at UK Nats, but that is a side competition for foreign players and not related to crowing the UK National Champion. I don’t think Iceland has a national contest, so unfortunately Palli’s only option is to go through prelims unless he gets a seed by winning Worlds.
The UK contest may have been too late to get a seed for this year’s Worlds anyway, since registration for competitors was already closed before the UK contest. Yuji was not listed as a seeded player on the Worlds site.
