I loved my Bumblebee back in the day, it’s been so long I don’t even remember what corkpad response feels like

I picked one up, I quite like it. It’s definitely not as responsive as the RBC or any of the snappier responsive yoyos. I think the response is quite similar to the older cork pads (I pulled out a duncan bumblebee to compare), though I don’t have a fresh pair of the cork pads. Definitely responsive enough, and you can always cut away a few of the starbursts if you need to.

I picked up a Grind Machine, missed out on the Mutant.
I really enjoy it. It has been in the top 3 of my throws for the past month. I find the cork interesting yet serviceable. I would say it is a touch slippy compared to silicone, but still, enjoyably tug responsive. I like its size and weight. Just a general fun throw to me that is slightly different.
