@AndreBoulay does anyone read these before they’re sent out considering you’re signing your name to them? The emails are generic GenAI slop prose, which, whatever, I get it, marketing, that’s how the world’s shifting (barf). But this part in particular from one earlier this week is just egregious:
That day taught me something I never forgot.
The yoyo does not win the contest, the player does.
You were made a National Yo-Yo League Master in 2008. But Gentry’s WYYC 2014 FS was really when you realized it’s the player not the yo-yo? If you actually believed that (come on), why didn’t Jensen Kimmet’s 2010 WYYC routine make you realize that when he won with a Northstar? You even have them in stock. But we all know the answer, this isn’t something you really believed, it’s something an LLM hallucinated to advertise a product it selected in your store.
This is just the most recent example but there are plenty of others of ridiculous slop. Please at least have someone with yo-yo knowledge take the time to proofread what you expect others to spend their time reading.
Also this is besides the larger point but this line is also completely wrong: Nothing slips, nothing misses.; in the first 20 seconds Gentry misses a hop to behind his wrist, 45 seconds in misses hidemasa hook followed by missing a hop to cross-arm trapeze. That’s just within the first minute, there are a few more flubs, but those are most noticeable.
I still think YYE is the best yo-yo store, but this is disappointing.
