Wait - you can do reverse Brent stole but not regular? I’m the exact opposite lol. All the reverse movements feel so awkward to me, and I get knots so much, that I tend not to even practice them

That was fire my bro.

Do you take the loop off your finger to remove the knot? If so that’s why it’s so frustrating - just open the knot with your nth and hop the yoyo from the front to remove your RBS knot

Thanks Mark! I finally got it using a Recess First Base with a moderately thick lubed half spec bearing. I found if I shoot it up and towards my throw hand on the final hop instead of just up it really helps to prevent snags on the last part of the trick.

A First Base sounds way less terrifying than learning to do it on my Alley Cat. I was flinching every time I would pop up, which didn’t do me any favors.

It’s axle knots that are the problem. Sometimes I can get them, but usually I have to either grab my pick or take the yoyo apart because I have big stupid sausage fingers. It happens more with trying to do reverse hook actually
Edit- this is a big reason I love the Puff Adder - it’s shape let’s me get out axle knots with my fingers 9/10 times

Yeah I just stole my daughters First base and threw in a half spec. I’ve honestly been blown away at the performance responsive. It’s on par with the performance of my Spinworthy acetal responsive, maybe even a touch more capable on string tricks.

Yeah, Tyler really knocked it out of the park with the First base. Tons of value for the price.

lol yah.
I mean I can do Brent Stole now… but I did learn how to one hand bind early on from all my mistakes.
I feel you. I stopped trying until I got used to how the string and yoyo worked in unison. Watching tutorials didn’t help in the beginning, so I would just practice mounts and try different things on my own and experiment from there.
Also still haven’t learned kwyjibo, cold fusion, spirit bomb, and many others. Womp.

Nice job man!

I was trying at iron whip for 5 or 6 days last week.
Gave up.
Will come back to it at a later date!

That was me for the longest time too. I found really exaggerating the whip helps… especially when you first pop the yoyo up you’re going to want to turn you’re throw hand face up all the way. That’s what helped me.

Trying to find some tricks to learn for my tutorials. Learned the takeshi bounce trick in like 5 minutes because it’s basically the opposite of an element I use in my most recent trick so expect that next week

If you guys have any tricks you want a tut for, let me know and I’ll work on it.
