Maybe if you toss it into the fire - the Unknown Logo will start to glow?
I do not have one, but “Unengraved” suggests there must be some sort of engraving somewhere. Perhaps in black?

The b in the rbc logo is one yoyo half. If you draw 2 halfs oriented like a horizontal yoyo, you can see a u shape on top, and n shape on bottom.

I took mine out in direct sunlight with a magnifying glass and got nothing. That fire thing might be our best option. Who hasn’t tried yet?

Just use an air compressor (a bike pump might even work) and pop the caps off. Black on black engravings underneath anodization aren’t that hard to see, so if there’s anything at all it’ll be under the caps, or in the contact area obscured by the cap fit.
Just wrap the end of the needle on your pump with some electrical or gaffer tape or something and jam it into the axle hole. Wear some kind of ear protection if it’s anything like popping the caps off a Freehand AL.
Not really sure why there’s so much speculation about this instead of somebody just doing it.
I guess this makes sense why the black one cost more money, I had assumed it was an increased cost from a different blast being applied. Will definitely have to track one down eventually.

It is loud, I used construction earmuffs when swapping caps on my red/clear ones.

Yes, I looked closely over the whole exterior of the yoyo (even with a jeweller’s loupe) and could not find any subtle markings. Even under the response pads. If there are markings, then they could be inside… I don’t know!
