The beginning of that trick Mickey always does

Happens at about 1:25, it looks like a 1.5 mount going around his NTH, then slacking the yoyo around and catching it; before going into the rest of the combo.

Now, I know how to do the part after he slacks the yoyo around and catches it (roughly 1:28, mrmatio on youtube made an excellent tutorial), it’s just the very first part I need advice on.

Am I missing something? The opening of the trick in the video I posted (1:25) looks different than the one in mrmatio’s video (only the opening, the rest is the same); it doesn’t even look like Hiroyuki rolls the yoyo between his arms in the beginning
