The Abyss' Hopeless Baryon Project - Hub and Review

This will be one of the most difficult reviews I will have to make, because I will have to be separating what is good with what is bad. So I will be splitting this review up into what I like, and why you may not like it.

A Reminder

I have the fortunate enough skills to keep things clean and well reviewed as I have a history with reviews, however, this will be my first yoyo review. This will involve some back and forths, edits, revisions, and testing. Whatever this review is missing PLEASE tell me. I am not a professional yoyoer, so I may not hit all the hallmarks I should be. Thank you!! Expect this to be reworked a lot.

Bimetal? - Yeah!! This yoyo is a bimetal.

Despite being smaller, this does have a lot of power to it. A big complaint of smaller yoyos are their spintime, but this absolutely will hold up through your combos. It won’t spin as long as a midsized bimetal, but for this size it is very impressive. Whatever you throw at any other yoyo, this thing can also handle it. It plays a bit dense, but not heavy.

Play Feel

This yoyo is a bimetal, and a really stable one at that. It isn’t wide but also isn’t too narrow. The best way I can describe it is being a solid pocket rocket. It has a lot of momentum when it gets going, but isn’t weighty enough to be dead on the string. It is rather quite easy to move it around, and to use. I switch around to a lot of different throws and this is not exhausting to use unlike heavier yoyos. It can be exhausting if you practice for a longer period as it is about an average yoyo’s weight, but nothing that would seriously put you off from playing.

The size is where I would say its greatest aspect is. A lot is crammed into this yoyo; so much so that it doesn’t really play or feel like an undersized. I think it sits right at the edge of average sized to undersized, but it definitely is an undersized through-and-through.

To edit out eventually

This will be a massive major WiP.

(I have done reviews before, mostly Gunpla stuff for my studio. My yoyo skills may be developing slowly, but I already have a lot to work with on opinions for the Baryon). This will be a WiP as I still need to gather more thoughts and comparisons. This is an early treat for Yoyo Day!!)

(The treat isn’t that I will only do JUST the Baryon. I plan to make a hub eventually of all the Yoyos I like and my reviews on all of them, the treat is me kickstarting this now!)

Happy Yoyo Day!!
