Somebody told me to keep the reviews coming, So why not make 2 review posts in a day?
I got this yoyo in a white elephant gift exchange. Since then, like a cursed item in Dungeons and Dragons, I have been mostly incapable of putting this yoyo down. If I do leave it behind, it calls for me, beckons for me to throw it. It keeps me awake at night (this statement has not been verified).
Seriously though, this is probably the best monometal release of 2025 for me. While not exactly meant for speed, this yoyo is very deliberate in its pacing and power, indeed rewarding flow and form(…a) by encouraging forethought, planning, and precision. With an interesting cup design vaguely reminiscent of a double rim and a profile i simply call “The Shape” (a profile also used on the Pop! Weasel, Xenon series from Offset, the Gingie Aggressor and numerous other yoyos), the yoyo is extremely comfortable and feels like an extension of the hand to me. Power is not lacking in the slightest either, which is a major boon to me. The larger polished area near the response allows for lower string friction in the gap, allowing me to frolic in the fields with thick string.
If you want a semi-classic-feeling yoyo with enough width to also perform modern tricks with some ease, get this yoyo. You should also just get this yoyo because it’s just really something special. Hats off to Max of Edition Yoyos for creating a true masterpiece.
