I switched from smoking to vaping and my lungs feel much better. I know it’s still a bad habit and someday maybe I’ll quit. But I can breathe easier.

I’m happy you posted this. It really isn’t worth smoking or vaping and to those that do I won’t shame you I get it’s so so hard t stop and your only human.

My grandmother was just diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and was given 3-7 months to two years with treatment. Which is rough but she did smoke for 40 years and is 85 so she somehow made it pretty far along before the inevitable happened.

I just hope it doesn’t get drawn out because I’ve lost others to lung cancer and the last weeks are miserable and I won’t paint a picture but fluid buildup around the lungs is not a fun way to go…

Wow… that sucks, man. losing a Grandparent, or any loved one for that matter, is really tough. you guys will get through this, I hope you can find joy in these next days with her.

I’m at that age that parents and grandparents likelyhood of passing starts to increase every year exponentially. Go hug your mom or dad if you still can.

If I managed to quit, I’d say it’s possible for anyone! I had a few motivating factors, one of them being the girl I was trying to date (and then eventually married ) didn’t like cigs, the car I was restoring had never been smoked in, and I was also very broke. But slowly I tapered off and was eventually able give up the post meal cig as the final hold out.

I was at like 1.5 packs a day, and loved smoking. I never thought I would quit, but here I am, I don’t even remember when the last time I had one was. 10 years ago? Closer to 15? No desire to ever start again.

Maybe I’ll smoke a pipe when I’m old and retired or something, but only if I hand carve it lol.

Wish I could quit the other smokable herb, but that has been a very long hard struggle. Very tumultuous relationship with Mary.

Pretty sure yo-yoing represents my most compulsive “vice” lol.

I grew up in the 80s, when it could not have been plainer that cigarette companies were marketing directly to kids and teens, and one day, my lung doctor dad brought home a cancerous lung in a bag and dropped it right on the kitchen table, saying “don’t smoke.”

In retrospect, I really wonder about the HIPAA compliance regarding that kind of thing, but it was a different time I guess?

In any case, it left a mark.

Similar here, except it was in HS. We had a two hour presentation about cigarettes. Describing how addictive and deadly nicotine was. As well as MANY very graphic photos of lung cancer, cadavers opened up, etc. It was crazy.

I can’t say much, I got a dip in my mouth everytime you see a video of me, definitely need to quit that nasty habit as well

:rofl::rofl::rofl: that’s awesome!

I would be okay with being more like you, Ed. I look up to you in a lot of ways. Thanks for putting yourself out there :pray:t3:

Sincere thanks although I assure you I’ve got plenty of faults (like anybody). Just trying to lean more or less the right direction, one day at a time. :pray:t3:

The pictures and graphics never did it for me! I’m a smoker, turned vaper, turned yo-yo addict. An infected lung on the table however probably would have done it!! :lungs: wow! Scary stuff.

@Yodaddyo you’ll know when you’re ready. I’ll second the vaping replacement therapy and simply being able to breathe normal. It’s quite incredible how much better you start to feel!

First step might be separate yo-yo from smoking. Just try changing that habit. Leave the smoke breaks to smoke breaks and give yourself yo-yo breaks every so often. GL brother!

The last thing I will say on it as well, just from personal experiences to try and help, and not to derail the thread further, but vaping really helped me slowly reduce the habit down from 18mg (standard cig) down to 3mg now, to help lessen the cravings, plus, it helped stop all that coughing and congestion as well, much better feeling overall. Definitely could tell a difference.

If it’s an oral fixation as well, I’ve been hearing about this product called Teaza which is pretty awesome (got a bag to try myself). They’re like pouches, but it’s all tea-cut herbs, vitamins, and flavoring. They even have natural caffeinated options for that kick you might be looking for, and the flavors last forever. Might help with that final last little jump.

My Grandpa switched from Smoking to Vaping a few years back, I was a young kid at the time, and I could still tell the difference.

First attempt at a birds eye trick recipe. Definitely not a tutorial since I made up some of the names

I am in private discussion with Seth. Hopefully we will convert him.

Former Smoker, Former Vaper, Nicotine pouches now.

I have the Chest Xray’s to prove the difference between Smoking and Vaping. It was awesome, although it took Years to see the difference. Breathing Better!!! I would almost argue Vapers have better lung capacity, we can really pack it in!

One of the biggest things I haven’t seen about the change from others. Sense of Smell and Taste returned. WOW what being able to smell and taste what you are consuming feels like! I didnt know any better.

I’m sick with… something right now, lol.

Currently I couldn’t smell or taste the difference between a Cinnamon Roll and a Dictionary, and man, does it suck; my family decided to make cookies yesterday and I couldn’t taste anything!!

I couldn’t imagine needing to put up with that 24/7, it sounds seriously awful.

Thoughts and prayers out to Seth for sure.

And realizing how bad you must have smelled to everyone all the time. It’s unbelievable how bad a smoker smells to me now lmao. I mean no insult, it just was surprising to me.

I know I said I was done, but I just wanted to +1 and emphasize how much better you smell. You can smell like anything (although I would avoid buttery flavors unless you know what you’re doing). Personally, I love the fruit flavors.

Also, ability to breathe is pretty dope too, not to undersell it or anything (It’s actually pretty amazing not waking up coughing)

@Pun1sh3R Idk if it’s too graphic, but I’m down to see them lung diffs.
