Super cool Duncan eBay find!

So, I saw this and I just had to have it. Don’t care if there’s ink in it, don’t care if there’s no string in it either. I just HAD to have it. Back in the day before iPhones, social media, and all that jazz this is how ya had to sneak in entertainment to school. Man, I sound soooo old. “..yup young fella you hear me right. Uphill both ways, yep yep yep…”

Supercool find though! The YoYo feels smaller, thinner than an actual Duncan imperial.

“No Mrs Whosawhatsit it’s just a pen shaaaped like a YoYo. No I’d never bring a toy like that to class, I only come to school to learn history and Arithmetic (that’s what they used to call math… never really been clear on the why. Also, a bit before my time).

Where did you go to school, Shawshank? Never had to hide a yoyo. Teachers played with ‘em too. Cool gimmick though

Hah! How’d you guess? Going to the alumni meeting?

I just thought it was a cool pen, plus it was like, twelve bucks. Thought it was pretty neat

I bought the same one a few weeks ago. I found that if you just clean the end of the ink pen it will start to work again. I used rubbing alcohol to clean it and remove the old dried up ink. Not that ill ever use it but still nice to have it work. Also its the best mini size imperial. Its halfway between the mini keychain and regular size. Plus it has some weight rings and played better than I thought it would.

Ahh cool! Thanks for the tip! Pun intended!

I figured it was an odd sized imperial. You’re right about the weight rings. It defiantly has a strange feel. Although I had the exact same experience, it threw a lot better than I would have guessed. Hell, a whole lot better than the keychain imperials. Anyways, thanks for the tip bud!

Also, can you unscrew yours?

Pretty sure I’ve had my fireball taken away more than once in grade school lol

They were always taking my pogs and slammers. The yoyo never caught any flack.

Pogs and slammers.. memory lane right there

Just punched in pogs into eBay, hooooly crap! Sure, they’re all pretty much worthless, but boy were they cool.

No I don’t think so. Do they unscrew? Im afraid to to hard but I think they are like the normal imperials. Is your coming apart? The axle may be loose then.

I feel a pog and slammer thread comin on haha

Edit: I just checked eBay as well, I feel like I’m about to cry from the wave of 3rd grade nostalgia omg

Right? I saw that purple flashy metal 8 ball slammer that everyone had? I almost bought it on nostalgia alone! :joy:

The torpedoes were my favorite type of slammer. Make it rain pogs from the heavens!

Had one similar to this

The slammer I remember the most was, Bigfoot. It was black on top, then had a red bottom half. Which was a rubbery material scented to smell like strawberry’s.

Interesting marketing gimmick. :joy:

And no, negative on unscrewing. If you look down in it, the bearing setup is pretty strange. Since you can’t really unscrew it I couldn’t find out any more.

That reminds me of the markers they used to make that smelled like fruit and candy. Probably not the best idea for a bunch of kids to be sniffing markers but hey the 90’s were different!

My wife received a supply kit for our daycare that included “scented modeling dough” that were the exact same scents as those markers. I can always tell days that the kids were playing with it, I can smell it as soon as I walk through the back door lol

A throw with pog caps and a slammer counterweight! Throw in that marker smell and I think I’d be foaming at the mouth with nostalgia.

Mr. Sketch is still alive and well :head_shaking_vertically: The kids may be missing out on some things, but at least the tradition of sniffing markers lives on (granted I bet the formula has changed)!
