FWIW, I remember someone unleashing a batch of plastic fixed-axle Duncans on my school in the late 80s (so 10 years earlier than the period the video covers). They were banned not too long after.
They’re still banned where I live. Even now I type this under a blanket, in the closet, at night. Gangs of robots roam the streets called “spinners”, if they catch you with a yoyo they break your fingers. Which ironically makes typing into this forum very, very difficult…
