Sport division info?

Today was yo-yo club at my school, and Michael Hart from turner return tops showed up. I told him I was planning on competing in nats this year, and he suggested sport division as I’ve never competed before. Other than the fact that it’s basically less competitive and meant for beginners, I don’t know much about it. Tia!

The Sport Freestyle division is intended for players early in their freestyle career.

Basically, it’s a lower-pressure division for those who haven’t competed before or who have only competed a few times.

Nice that’s sweet! There is sport X at regionals for all the X division styles but sport or 1a sport. It’s literally 80% evals and 20% percent TE (clicks). I think it’s helpful to find a song with strong cues early and start building a routine to it. Try to put in just the tricks you feel very very confident in landing successfully bc going clean will be way way way more important than high difficulty tricks. Try to make it fun and entertaining and you’ll do great. Try to move around and use the whole stage for your performance. The routines are only 60 seconds which is both short and also kind of long lol. Have fun and good luck!

Edit bc I wrote it was 90/10 but I was wrong it is 80/20
Here’s a cute little graphic nyyl produced
